Our Education System

Introduction:

Education is a form of learning in which knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to another.” It is not bounded to the educational institutes like schools and colleges only as it starts from the mother’s lap and ends at the grave. Besides teachers, there are parents who make their children learn good manners and make them responsible citizens. Therefore, a home is called the first school of the children. However, the home does not provide formal education to the children as it starts from the school level, where they are taught, how to behave and understand what is going on around them in the world. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. A nation cannot Progress without improving its education system.

“Educating the mind without the heart is no education at all.”     (Aristotle)

The education system of Pakistan is not in good condition there is very low literacy rate in Pakistan mostly people do not aware from the advantages of education. In Pakistan, the poverty rate is very high so most of parents want that their children do any type of job to earn money and financially help them out. Government policies are not in the favor of education. Consequently in Pakistan there is two types of education system first one is the "Government education system" and the second one is the "Private education system" and there is a lot of difference between these two systems.

The government education system is not costly, but the standard of government education is very low and the Private education system is very costly every citizen can not afford private education. the main problem is the inequality of the public and private education system which has caused discrimination among the students.

ISLAM also tells us about Education and its importance. The real essence ording to ISLAM is "to know ALLAH" but I think in our country we truly lost. Neither our schools nor our madrassa's (Islamic Education Centres) are truly educating our youth in this regard. In schools, educating them we are just preparing "Money Machines". big school for just social status. On the other hand in our madrassas, It is crystal clear that Islamic Education is necessary for Muslims but it is also a fact that without modern education no one can compete in this world. There are many examples of Muslim Scholars who not only study the Holy Quran but also mastered other subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, and many more, with the help of the Holy Quran.

Conclusion:

In the current education system, we are narrowing the way for our children instead of widening it. There is no doubt that our children are very talented, both in schools and in madrassas, we just need to give them proper ways to groom, give them the space to become Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.

The education system we are running with is not working anymore. We have to find a way to bridge this gap between school and madrassa. Robert Maynard Hutchins describes it as "The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives." We should give our youth the way to educate themselves.
